- Arrange your own transport: Drive yourself or use trusted transport. Don't depend on your date for a ride home initially.
- Trust your instincts: If something feels off, it's okay to leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
Protecting Your Information
- Don't share financial info: Never send money to someone you've met online, no matter how convincing the story.
- Guard personal details: Avoid sharing your home address, workplace address, or daily routine until you've built trust.
- Keep conversations on the app: Use Novito's in-app messaging until you feel comfortable. Moving off-app too quickly removes our safety protections.
Spotting Red Flags
- Refuses to video call or meet in person after extended chatting
- Asks for money or financial assistance
- Pressures you to move the conversation off-app immediately
- Inconsistent stories or details about their life
- Gets angry or aggressive when you set boundaries
- Wants to rush into a serious relationship unusually fast
